World Down Syndrome Day…

World Down Syndrome Day… was today. I’ve known all about it and had great plans to celebrate, but honestly since Cole has been feeling better I’m just playing major catchup and was busy just enjoying my kids feeling well.

Miss Kayla was especially precious to me today as I thought about how she has changed our world in amazing ways over the past two years. I wouldn’t trade exactly who she is for anything!

The Utah Down Syndrome Foundation put together a video that really says it all. I have said pretty much every single one of those things they say in the video. And at the beginning, I wouldn’t have believed it.

My most favorite quote reminds me of how Kayla’s big brother’s already feel about her – she DOES rock that extra chromosome!

Here’s to the kiddos with designer genes!

It was a blessing to read your post. I can see how much you love your special Kayla. And the rest of your family also. They are very special people. And may I also say she is beautiful. You have made my day, thank you.

Only a bit more than a week after Down Syndrome Day, I was shocked by an Easter procession in Malta yesterday. Of all the participating children, one was visibly suffering from Down Syndrome. And guess which role they gave him to play? Have a look: http://andreasmoser.wordpress.com/2012/04/01/dingli-easter-procession-children/ – and be prepared to be shocked.
