If you could only do one thing that helps organize your life each day, what would it be?
As you can tell from Kayla’s sweet kissy face, I can be easily distracted by some pretty important people. I already confessed my abject detest of cleaning, so it probably follows that at any given time I would choose to play games and do Kayla’s therapy stuff than deal with organizing.
The catch 22 of course is that I’d have more time for both if I was more organized. I’ve really been working on improving in this area, but always seem to feel like I’m just barely getting on top of things and any one little catch destroys the whole game plan.
This isn’t what I intended to write about today, but honestly I just can’t help myself! Organization is not my strong suit when it comes to my home or kitchen even. I’m still learning (always!!) and trying to figure out a good system and frankly, when most days feel like they are spent just trying to keep my head above water, I just don’t get as far as doing more than putting out the fires and rolling with the punches.
The irony of course is that when I do get my act together and have a plan in place, it usually makes a big difference and helps things be more organized and everything flows better… until something throws things, which happens more often than not.
A big part of this has been getting out of my own way and not being so focused on feeling overwhelmed that I overwhelm myself more and quit before even trying.
So, my question for you is this: do you plan your menus? Do you do it weekly, write it down, use an app? What tips can you share? Links, sources?
It is usually just me and my two little boys who are rather picky. One thing I have found that helps is to have them plan with me. I’ve tried freezer meals too, but more for me than the boys since they rarely want to cooperate and eat what I’m eating. They will try lots of different things, but they like to get stuck in their own little ruts with what they are in the mood for.
So, pretty please! Drop some wisdom off in the comments would you? I looked at my schedule for this week thinking it couldn’t be as nuts as last week, only to discover it looks to be just as bad or worse!
