Strawberry Vanilla Sunburst Pancakes & {NetZero Giveaway}

I enjoy taking simple things and making them a little more special (or sometimes just complicating them… but you know, that’s just me). Every day things can be made special fairly easily and without a lot of fanfare. Every moment with the kiddos counts and taking a few extra minutes to dress up their breakfast is something I know they remember and that helps them know they are loved.

We eat pancakes all the time, but if I make them in a special shape, it becomes something much more fun and the kids are excited. Top them off with some whipped cream and sprinkling of cocoa powder and suddenly something that is pretty ‘every day’ becomes festive. Definitely something to keep in mind during the coming holiday break to help bring the magic.

Speaking of magic…

There is absolutely no getting around the fact that we are a wi-fi loving, technology dependent family. A ‘modern’ family if you will. At least that is what the little old lady who walked by Kayla and I at the indoor swimming pool at our local rec center called us. Kayla happened to be watching a movie on my old (broken screen) iPhone while I was working on my laptop. I just smiled and said, “yes.” The boys take swimming lessons and absolutely love it. It is boring for Kayla because she isn’t a fan of going in the water, so we sit on the sidelines and watch the boys or I try to keep her entertained with movies, songs, games, etc.

There was a time, not all that long ago that the moniker ‘modern’ or being looked at that way for having my almost 3 year old glued to an electronic device would have bothered me. To be honest, I’ve gotten over it. We are lucky and I know it and if it makes her happy and helps increase her language skills, that’s great with me.

I like to think that this giveaway is exactly what will happen for one of you. Making accessing the internet extra special!

That’s why I’m excited to bring you a giveaway as a part of this review opportunity I’ve been given to try out NetZero’s 4G HotSpot! I’ve been trying the HotSpot I received out, and am actually using it to write this post, and quite frankly, this is faster than my cable internet at home.

The actual NetZero 4G HotSpot device is nice and tiny. It’s only about the size of a man’s square wallet. There aren’t a whole lot of cords to hook up either, and you can use the cord to charge it through your computer or plug it into a wall.

I tried this out at home and although the service was great, I have to say I thought it was hilarious that my service was even better when I drove downtown and tried it out in the grocery store parking lot while waiting for a friend. Kayla enjoyed streaming a movie while I was working on the computer and my phone was streaming my Pandora Swingin’ Christmas station and Dean Martin crooning out of the speakers on the radio. I also checked out the live feed from the space station on UStream and watched a live podcast as well. That was three devices all at once with not a single hiccup or *scrubbing* delay. Pretty sweet. Not that all of those are usually things I do… I wanted to put the device through it’s paces and I think it passed with flying colors!

So, my question to you is, how would having your own NetZero 4G HotSpot change life for you?
