Get Up, Get Out and LiVe!

by Holly on August 24, 2012

Unbelievably, this summer has whipped right past us. I swear that school only got out a week ago! While I’ve actually made quite a few recipes this summer as well, we have been so busy that finding time to write has been a struggle. I know this is two recipe-less posts in a row, but believe me, there is a storm of recipes a-coming starting this weekend. In the meantime, the chance you have to win some serious swag that I’ll tell you about in this post is well worth sticking around for!

As I mentioned, we’ve been super busy and I’ll bet you did a lot of things this summer too! I’d love to hear about your favorite memory from this summer, and hey, while you’re at it, if you have a picture of you, your kids, or your family doing something to get out and be active, then the Intermountain LiVe Contest is for you!

Seriously, though, even though it feels like it flew by, I know we were able to pack quite a bit into our summer. Between swimming lessons and days at the park and splash pad, plus trips to the zoo, bowling and helping out at Dusty’s various skydiving demos around the Wasatch Front we’ve been pretty busy. Add to that the bike and scooter rides around the neighborhood and out on the trails near our house, and hiking at Cascade Springs and visiting Bridal Veil Falls and we even managed to even see a few of the sites.

Last week we headed out on vacation to visit Dusty’s parents in Northern Idaho. It is always a highlight of our summer and we all look forward to the trip. There were days at the beach, more swimming and hot tubbing, a visit to an amusement park, jumping on the trampoline and playing with the dogs.

We went fishing, hiked through a forest and around the farm and even went on a seaplane ride over some of the most amazing and beautiful, untouched country Idaho has to offer. Intermountain Healthcare wants to know what active things you did!

It’s pretty simple, Intermountain Healthcare wants to encourage all of us to be active, healthy and get out and LiVe!! To help share those active moments they are holding a photo contest. Simply follow the directions on the Intermountain LiVe Facebook page and submit your favorite active photo from this summer. Then spread the word and tell everyone you know to go and vote!

What’s in it for you? Oh, just a CHANCE TO WIN one of two GoPro cameras and some other swag!! The camera is what Dusty and our friend Marshall on the GoPro Bomb Squad (along with pretty much every other skydiver and BASE jumper we know!) use for all their super cool footage. In fact, the pictures below are screen grabs (thanks for teaching me how to do that Marshall!) of a couple of the skydiving demos they did this summer. That means you can take killer video, and snag pics off it too. And the camera is tiny. And you can wear it. Seriously, I love that thing!

While GoPro is the premiere video camera for sports and athletes, we moms all know that a skydiver surfing in at 30+ mph really has nothing on a determined and quick toddler, plus that kiddo footage is precious and fleeting! Go enter the Intermountain LiVe Contest and get yourself a good chance at your own GoPro!

It’s easy peasy and once you’ve found the Intermountain LiVe site you’ll have found all the fantastic information they have to share – healthy recipes, apps and ideas for helping you and your kids live and active and healthy, happy lifestyle!

The submission deadline is September 14th, so get on it!

Head over to their Facebook page, just in case I haven’t already convinced you!
