Done moping… Almost

by Holly on March 16, 2012

Thank you for your kind comments and virtual hugs and support (even if you make me cry, it’s nice to cry over something good for a change). I didn’t mention in last night’s tirade about Kayla’s latest diagnosis that the reason I’m so exhausted and haven’t slept is because Cole has been sick for the past few days. A pretty constant, sneaky fever that just doesn’t want to quit. He is finally starting to mend I think, but unfortunately he doesn’t like to eat anything when he’s sick, so in the past 4 days he has eaten one taco, half a doughnut and half a turkey, ham and cheese sandwich and two danimals. Most of that was today. What this all means then is that he is now back down to 29.5 lbs and has officially lost his little toe hold on the growth chart. And he was supposed to be gaining weight. So much for that!

Anyway, I’m determined to try and get things back on track (even if our track seems to be a constant series of train wrecks!) tomorrow and stop my moping.

Kayla starts her new thyroid medicine in the morning and I’m not sure what to expect, but I really hope it helps her.

Thank you again for the support and help and reaching out. It has been what gets me through the day and I will definitely be getting in touch with those who have offered to lend me your expertise about our various issues – just as soon as I come up for air and get a little time on the computer and not just my phone.

Hugs and love,

Please let me know if there’s ever anything I can do. Maybe deliver caffeine by IV?

I love you Em! 🙂 BTW, seriously, if the almighty *they* have been holding out on me and caffeine IV’s are available and I didn’t know it, I seriously need a hook up 😉 We need to hang out soon!

Holly, have you considered Brewer’s Yeast (it’s a specific brand of nutritional yeast)? I’m using it for breastmilk production, but from what I’ve read about it, it can also be used as a tool for weight gain or loss. It just depends on when you take it to how your body processes it. Good luck! I just wish kids came with owner’s manuals sometimes. Sure would make life a little easier!

Having my own “mysterious” health issues lately, I feel your pain of not knowing what to do or how to help those you love! Thanks for writing, believe it or not, it helps others to read your thoughts, too. Sorry to hear of your frustrations with your kids and their health. Just keep hanging in there!
